I've been hearing that both Nexus and Black Lace are closing and the editor that I receive books for review from has been made redundant.
As there is also a 'new boss', I do not know if I will receive a book for review from Virgin ever again.
It's a shame. I would love to know if there is any truth in this.
Bang goes my dream of being published by Black Lace, too. I was far too late and spent far too much time procrastinating. There's a lesson to be learnt there.
Now, I shall be putting together a list of erotic publishers for future reference. Maybe I can strike up a relationship with a new one :)

Hi, Carrie - the official line is that Black Lace and Nexus are 'suspended' throughout 2010. Whether that means they are finished completely, or will be picked up again in 2011 remains to be seen. Adam the editor has indeed (very sadly) left the building too. But I sincerely hope that you will still receive review copies up to the end of the year, as both my book and that of my friend, the fabulous Charlotte Stein, are yet to be released (mine in December, hers in October).
I'm so sorry that you seem to have missed the BL boat - I was very, very close to missing it myself. If I'd left it any longer at all, I'd be in the same position as you.
The Erotica Readers and Writers Association has some very good links to erotica publishers, if you don't know that site.
Best of luck with your writing and reviewing & thanks for highlighting the sad situation at Virgin on your blog.
